Hearts Minds Craft Laughs Impact Purpose GoodSadé Clacken Joseph is a filmmaker known for her lyrical approach to underrepresented stories and her gift for capturing tender, humorous moments. A Caribbean-American from the Bronx, Sadé began her storytelling through music and fantasy films, later earning an MFA in Film Production from USC. Formerly represented by PRETTYBIRD, her work includes directing Issa Rae’s RAP SH!T pilot on HBO Max, episodes of Good Trouble on Freeform, and Diarra from Detroit on BET+. Her acclaimed documentaries Trap Jazz (Hulu) and Hope and Redemption: The Common Prison Tour add to her award-winning portfolio, which includes recognition from the Ryan Murphy HALF Foundation, the DGA’s John Frankenheimer Fellowship, and Obama’s White House 30 Under 30 Caribbean-American Emerging Leader Award. Sadé’s projects Knight, Spotify’s first Black Girl Magic narrative film, and Ponyboi, a Tribeca feature highlighted by Forbes, further showcase her innovative voice.
